hey hiyo fam,
george here, one of the founders of hiyo back with the third installment of to//from, a monthly letter from me to you keeping you up to date on the latest happenings in hiyo-land.

a floaty fourth
july kicked off with the nationwide celebration of our independence. in keeping with that theme, i think hiyo is, at our core, trying to declare independence from the millennia-old societal expectation that you have to drink alcohol to have fun in a social setting. we’re declaring independence from boring soda water and lime at the bar! declaring independence from days wasted due to the night before’s activities! let delicious freedom ring!
our sixth social tonic
this month, we launched your new favorite summertime sipper, pineapple coconut.
it’s like a piña colada, but without the loads of sugar and extra cals. pro tip: crack a can next to a body of water...
it just hits different.
a moment for the music
my inner child had a big moment when hiyo sponsored vans warped tour long beach. i grew up listening to this type of music. in fact, the first warped tour i ever went to, my mom dropped me off. when she picked me up, i only had one shoe after losing the other crowd surfing. this time, i went home with both shoes and a giddy smile after sipping hiyo all weekend long and belting out the songs that defined my adolescence.
new + nationwide
last but certainly not least, we launched at all locations of a little health food grocer called whole foods market. i’ll never forget the feeling of opening the email that said that we were accepted into their stores. it was a swell of emotions—from joy, to fear of failing, to unbridled excitement, to inspiration, to the profound pride of sitting in a dream realized. that dream doesn’t happen without people like yourselves loving hiyo, supporting us through our stumbles, celebrating our wins, and telling all your friends, so thank you.
